Welcome
to a new school year. I look forward to
getting to know all of you.
This
will be a new and very challenging year for all us
as we work to raise our ELA & Math Scores
and change over to the Common Core Standards
from the New York State Standards.
I
will be doing a push-in program this year with both
Mrs. Salego and Mrs. Cummings to assist with Primary
Reading and ELA instruction for the 5th and 6th
grades. In the afternoon we will be working in small
groups to address specific skill areas for students
who need extra help.
As
you may know, our school has offered after school
activities in the past. I am the Program Leader for
the Extended Day Grant that we were awarded last
year. After school activities will again be
offered through our Extended Day Grant for students
in grades 4-8. Students can
receive homework support, help studying for tests,
and many wonderful enrichment activities. Students
last year did art projects, played board games,
scrapbooking, cooking, sewing, outdoor activities,
photography and many more. I hope you will encourage
your child to take part in these activities during
the school year and during the summer as well. If
